When You Feel Like Giving Up, Remember This.
Welcome, to About That Life, a newsletter about food, music, and life lessons.
Humans are often driven by the desire to see results quickly. Whether it is losing weight or gaining muscle, we want to witness the outcomes of our efforts as soon as possible.
Patience, however, is not a virtue that comes naturally to many of us. Remember the times when you were a child and your guardians asked you to wait for something that you desperately wanted? It was tough, wasn't it?
What if what we want is not as simple as getting a sweet or a toy? What if it requires a long, arduous journey to achieve? What if the process of obtaining it is not straightforward, and we have to go through several trials and tribulations to attain it? Even as adults, waiting for something we desire can be a difficult task.
This is when faith becomes vital.
At times like this, it's essential to have faith in God that is looking out for us. He understands our struggles and knows what we truly desire. God, in particular, is well acquainted with us and our needs. He knows that waiting for something we desire can be a challenging task, but he encourages us to have faith in him and trust that everything will work out for our good.
Can you relate to this verse?
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13 verse 12.
Written over 2,000 years ago and is still relevant today.
Some of your desires will come through. When they don’t, you sometimes get a greater blessing or come to the realization that it was not good for you. God will always take care of your needs if you trust in him.
Keep this verse close to your heart.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4 verses 6-7.
While it's natural to desire quick results, it's important to have patience and faith in times of waiting. Trusting that God is working behind the scenes and that everything will work out in due time can help us remain calm and composed during the waiting period.
Remember that life's journey won't be perfect. You will be tested, and at times you will feel like giving up. But with God on your side, you can overcome.
Faith can move mountains.
